ABOUT MYN
Myn is a transformational executive leader committed to diversity, inclusion, performance excellence and mentoring women and men to grow and become leaders themselves.
She has a range of expertise in international development and diplomacy in bilateral and multilateral contexts. She has successfully brought transformative leadership in achieving long term vision, developing theories of change and managing change. Myn has led strategic planning, catalytic development programming and delivering operational outcomes. Her work is anchored in the conviction that participatory governance and constructive engagement in policy-making, in particular the inclusion of women and less heard voices, are game-changers for meaningful social transformation.
As Deputy Director-General of the Commonwealth Foundation (2012-2019), Myn led the strategic architecture of the organisation, securing a mandate from Commonwealth member states in 2012 to support sustainable development through people’s participation in governance across the Commonwealth and beyond.
Myn co-led in the organisation’s transformation as the Commonwealth’s uniquely positioned and one of its most credible intergovernmental agencies. She was also the Project Director of the Commonwealth People’s Forum, a global gathering of civic voices engaging with Commonwealth Heads of Government, in Sri Lanka (2013), Malta (2015) and London (2018).

Myn led an institutional strengthening governance programme in Afghanistan funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) as Director for Development, worked on peace and conflict impact assessment and local governance in Sri Lanka and was part of the GAC flagship local governance programme in the Philippines. She has worked in conflict and political transition environments for the last 18 years.
Myn believes in the value that local ownership of customised solutions and incremental and iterative approaches add in achieving systemic change. Her multidisciplinary specialisation includes gender and its intersectionality, peacebuilding, capacity development, facilitation and multistakeholder engagement. She has lived and worked successfully in multicultural settings in Afghanistan, Canada, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and London, United Kingdom in the last 21 years.
